WavePlane Desalination
To produce fresh water from seawater, the power from the turbines in the electricity WavePlane is used directly to pump high pressure (app. 70 bar) water that is sent into exiting reverse osmosis systems. The advantage with producing fresh water is that it can be stored when the production is high to be used when needed.
The WavePlane can be utilised for supplying water to arid regions, such as deserts, as power plants according to the invention can be placed off the coast of these regions. The inexpensive power from these power plants can then be utilised for driving pumps in plants which by means of reverse osmosis cleans sea water so that it is drinkable and/or usable for irrigation.
